Foro Regional 3GFALC

Ante la abrumadora evidencia que el modelo actual de crecimiento económico a nivel mundial es insostenible, el Foro Global de Crecimiento Verde (3GF) es un esfuerzo por fomentar acciones público-privadas a gran escala para acelerar la transición hacia una economía verde. El Gobierno de Dinamarca, en colaboración con el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo y con el Gobierno de Colombia como anfitrión, convocan este año el primer Foro Regional América Latina y el Caribe (3GFALC) enfocado en energías renovables y cambio climático. Su objetivo es brindar una plataforma de diálogo al más alto nivel entre aquellos interesados en contribuir a la transformación inminente del futuro energético de la región que aproveche de la importante dotación de fuentes de energía renovable que posee la región.

Regional Global Green Growth Forum Latin American and the Caribbean

The Regional Forum

Given overwhelming evidence that the world’s current economic growth model is no longer sustainable, the Global Green Growth Forum (3GF) is an effort to intensify large-scale public-private action which accelerates the transition to a green economy. The Government of Denmark, in partnership with the Inter-American Development Bank and hosted by the Government of Colombia convene the first LAC regional 3GF which is focused this year on renewable energy and climate change. The 3GFLAC provides a platform for dialogue among high-level stakeholders who may contribute to the imminent transformation of LAC’s energy future by harnessing its substantial endowment of renewable energy sources.

Peru’s economy has boomed over the last several years with average annual GDP growth of 6%. This economic success has also brought a commensurate rise in energy demand. There is a large need for increased output across the entire Peruvian energy matrix, but particularly in terms of natural gas production and distribution and electric generation capacity. The objective of this one-day executive roundtable will be to enhance high-level dialogue between the government, private sector and civil society with regards to the nation’s energy outlook and opportunities and challenges for sustaining Peru’s economic boom. Discussion of electric generation requirements, natural gas, energy infrastructure and upstream opportunities will be key areas for discussion. Additionally, panels will debate the intersection of mining and energy, where LNG fits in Peru’s natural gas outlook and the topic of energy access.

La economía de Perú ha experimentado un auge en los últimos años con un crecimiento promedio anual del PIB del 6%. Esta expansión de la economía también ha generado un incremento proporcional en la demanda de energía. Existe una gran necesidad de aumento en la producción a lo largo de toda la matriz energética peruana, pero en particular en términos de producción y distribución de gas natural y de capacidad de generación eléctrica. La finalidad de esta mesa redonda ejecutiva de un día es incentivar un diálogo de alto nivel entre el gobierno, el sector privado y la sociedad civil en cuanto a las perspectivas energéticas del país, así como las oportunidades y desafíos para hacer sostenible este auge económico de Perú. Los principales temas a discutir incluyen los requisitos para la generación de electricidad, gas natural, infraestructura energética y las oportunidades para upstream. Además, los paneles debatirán sobre la intersección entre minería y energía, dónde encaja el GNL en las perspectivas del gas natural de la nación y el tema del acceso a la energía.

International Glacier Forum: the challenge of research the service of society in context of climate change

This conference will bring together scientists, practitioners and representatives from public and governmental institutions to exchange experiences, recent progress and coordinate current and future initiatives in the field of glaciology and high mountains in Peru and the tropical Andes. Climate, glaciers, water resources, risks, and the relation to society and economy are among the conference topics. A particular focus is on fostering the exchange between scientists and public institutions, and how scientific insights can be transfered into public policies and other actions on the ground, accordingly, an emphasis is put on dialogue and exchange within several workshops.

The new deadline for submission of abstracts is 26 April 2013 (the main presentation form will be posters, with only a limited number of short oral presentations).

El Foro Internacional Glaciares: retos de la investigación al servicio de la sociedad en el marco del cambio climático, proporciona una plataforma única para el intercambio de experiencias y prácticas entre las comunidades científica en el campo de la glaciología, climatología, hidrología, y ciencias sociales que se realizan en las cordilleras a nivel mundial y permite facilitar la elaboración de agendas de investigación conjuntas hacia el establecimiento y cumplimiento de estrategias para la adaptación al cambio climático y la gestión de riesgos en ecosistemas de montaña.

El foro se realizará del 01 al 04 de julio en la ciudad de Huaraz, provincia de Ancash, Perú.

The Contest

Contestants are asked to prepare an original infographic inspired in any aspect of renewable energy in Latin America. For more information on what is an infographic you can go here. Or simply google the word “infographic” to find thousands of examples.

Eligibility

The competition is open to individuals over the age of 18 from anywhere in the world. There is no entry fee. Please note that the travel expenses, such as airfare and lodging are NOT included in the prize of this contest.

Rules and Criteria

The infographic can contain digital art, graphs, charts, photographs, and illustrations. Spanish, English, Portuguese, or creative combinations of these languages are acceptable. You may submit your infographic file as a .pdf, .ppt, .gif, .png or .jpeg file. The infographic must contain only original work and not be subject to any copyright restrictions. Infographics containing copyrighted material are not eligible to enter. All infographic entries become the property of Latinoamerica Renovable, which retains the right to publish the Infographics in all media formats including but not limited to print, digital and broadcast. The infographic author and the organizers will be acknowledged in all published versions.

Submitting Your Entry

Your infographic entry must be submitted by email to info@latinoamericarenovable.com subject line: Infographic Contest 2013. Your email must also include your full name, country, affiliation and contact information (telephone and email).

Important Dates

The competition begins June 15, 2013 and closes on July 5, 2013 at 5:00 pm EST time. Late submissions will not be accepted under any circumstance. The winner will be announced on July 8, 2013.

Judging Criteria

Infographics will be judged on a number of criteria, including: visual appeal; originality; popularity (Facebook likes), and the relevance of the information presented to the emerging renewable energy industry in the region.

The Prize

One (1) prize winner will receive a pass to attend the 3rd LATAM POWER HYDRO & RENEWABLE SUMMIT in Santiago, Chile this coming 7-8 August 2013 (with a value of $2,000.00 USD). More information about this exciting event here:

Concurso Infográfico 2013 de Latinoamérica Renovable y BNamericas

El Concurso

Los concursantes deberán preparar un infográfico original inspirado en cualquier aspecto de las energías renovables en América Latina. Para obtener más información sobre lo que es un infográfico puede ir aquí. O simplemente escriba en su buscador la palabra “infographic” para encontrar miles de ejemplos.

Elegibilidad

El concurso está abierto a personas mayores de 18 años de cualquier parte del mundo. No hay ningún costo por entrar al concurso. Tenga en cuenta que los gastos de viaje, como boletos de avión y alojamiento NO están incluidos en el premio de este concurso.

Normas y Criterios

El infográfico puede contener ilustraciones, gráficos, dibujos, fotografías y arte digital. Español, inglés, portugués o combinaciones creativas de estos idiomas son aceptables. Usted puede enviar su archivo conteniendo el infográfico con extensiones .pdf, .ppt, .png, .gif o .jpeg. El infográfico debe ser una obra original y no debe estar sujeto a restricciones de derechos de autor. Los infográficos que contengan material con derechos de autor (copyrighted) no son aptos para participar. Todos los infográficos participantes pasarán a ser propiedad de Latinoamérica Renovable, que conserva el derecho de publicar el infográfico en todos los formatos de los medios de comunicación incluyendo pero no limitado a la impresión, digital y difusión mediática. El autor de la infografía y los organizadores serán reconocidos en todas las versiones publicadas.

¿Cómo presentar su entrada?

El infográfico debe enviarse por correo electrónico a info@latinoamericarenovable.com, asunto: Concurso Infográfico 2013. Su correo electrónico también debe incluir su nombre completo, país, afiliación e información de contacto (teléfono y correo electrónico).

Fechas importantes

La competencia comienza el 15 de junio de 2013 y se cierra el 5 de julio de 2013 a las 5:00 pm del ESTE. No se aceptarán infográficos luego de estas fechas bajo ninguna circunstancia. El ganador será anunciado en 8 de julio de 2013.

Criterios de evaluación

El trabajo de infografía será juzgado con una serie de criterios, incluyendo: atractivo visual; originalidad; popularidad (Facebook) y la relevancia de la información presentada a la emergente industria de energías renovables en la región.

El premio

(1) Un ganador recibirá un pase para asistir a la Tercera Cumbre LATAM Energía Hidro & Renovables en Santiago de Chile los días 7-8 de agosto de 2013 (el pase tiene un valor de $2,000.00 dólares). Más información sobre este evento aquí:
